Letter from the Editor

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished; that will be the beginning.  ~Louis L’Amour

Dear Readers,

My daughter shared this quote with me, and we both thought it was the perfect way to begin my last letter to you as the editor of Lehigh Valley Marketplace. As I reflect upon the time that I have been Editor, I am reminded of the people that I have met, the experience I have gained and the memories that I will carry forward. My family has lived in the Lehigh Valley for more than 10 years, and I was Editor here for three. Both my personal and professional lives have felt like “home” for quite some time. However, all of that is about to change.

Our family will be relocating this summer for a wonderful business opportunity, and we consider ourselves truly blessed for what this means to us. While we are excited to begin this new chapter in our lives, none of us underestimates the emotional aspect of what we leave behind: family, friends, and the comforts that have been “home” for over a decade.

It has been a pleasure to be the editor of such a fine publication. As a working mother, this job has allowed me to balance both career and family, and for that I will always be grateful.

My team of writers was always willing to go the extra mile to help me bring you smart, insightful articles that I hope you have enjoyed. This Early Spring issue is no exception. In it, you’ll find information and advice about all things spring—including gardening, running and cleaning—as well as a profile on The Program for Women and Families and how they are making a difference.

Readers, I leave you in good hands with Laurie Teter, who will be the new editor of Lehigh Valley Marketplace. Laurie has lived and worked in the Lehigh Valley most of her life and has been writing for Marketplace since 2009.  I know she is looking forward to introducing herself to you in the May issue and I have no doubt that she will take good care of you…because you live here.

All my best,
Christine A. Krahling
