Designer Awnings has seen numerous changes since the business opened 20 years ago as Designer Patio Rooms. “As our business developed, we expanded our services and changed the name to Designer Home Improvements,” said Dario Tiberii, owner.

But a business card left behind by a sales rep for Sunesta retractable awnings was the trigger for pushing the company into a different direction. “I didn’t know much about awnings at the time, but the rep suggested that I try selling some,” Tiberii said. “Some” eventually turned into enough business for him to concentrate exclusively on high-quality awning installations, and he changed the company name again in 2013.

Today, Designer Awnings is Sunesta’s #5 dealer in the country and installs retractable awnings and screen systems throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond. “The screens block sunlight and keep out bugs,” he said, “and a heater can let you enjoy your patio or porch even in cooler weather.”

Tiberii added that the majority of Designer Awnings’ projects are in the $3800 – $6800 range and are usually completed in about four weeks. As part of the company’s 20th anniversary celebration, he’s offering a $750 discount on any purchases made in the month of April 2020.
