Cardinal Camera & Video Center

How often does a business get to mark its 75th year? That milestone is one Kurt Seelig, owner of Cardinal Camera & Video Center, is proud to celebrate. “Cardinal Camera was founded by my grandfather, George H. Seelig, in 1937 when he opened one of the earliest Kodak dealerships,” he explains. It was originally a photographic studio that evolved into a camera store with overnight processing in the 1940s and ‘50s.

From those early beginnings, Cardinal became a seller of conventional and video cameras, lenses and related products. As the business grew, the store moved twice, until it found its current, 6,000 square-foot headquarters in Lansdale. Over the years, new stores were added in Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Reading, Montgomeryville, Lancaster and Dover.

In April, Cardinal opened its newest location in the Lehigh Valley Mall. Other nearby stores include the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley and Quakertown. Today the business centers on camera sales, film and digital processing and other photo services. “We carry all major camera brands,” Seelig explains. They also offer in-house repairs, a rare service these days. From photo gifts to restoration to video transfers and camera equipment, this third-generation business knows how to serve its customers and keep them coming back.

Sunnieside Landscaping & Excavating

619 Moorestown Road  l  Bath, PA  l  610-759-6214  l  484-239-8386  l  sunniesidelandscaping.com

Sunnieside Landscaping & Excavating owner, Dave Mirro, loves what he does. During winter slowdowns, he can’t wait to get back outside to run equipment, sell and oversee jobs and lend a hand to his eight employees. He founded Sunnieside in 1978.

What sets Sunnieside apart from most landscapers is a full line of excavating equipment. That means they can take the job from start to finish with no subcontractors involved. “We do the initial excavation, set boulders, dig out for water features…everything that’s needed to create the outdoor living space the customer wants,” Mirro explains. Another advantage is its own nursery with a full line of landscape materials and garden supplies.

The company offers customized solutions guided by the clients’ wishes as well as by existing vegetation, topography and home architecture. Patios and walkways, outdoor kitchens, ponds and waterfalls, fire pits and hardscaping…Sunnieside offers a broad scope of services including maintenance after the sale.

Mirro is there every step of the way. “I both sell and supervise, so I make sure the job is done the way it was sold,” he explains. He walks customers through the project to ensure they’re getting what they want. “I love doing this,” he says, and it shows in the results.

Samina Wahhab, M.D., Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

1255 South Cedar Crest Blvd., Suite 1100  l  Allentown, PA  l  610-770-7676  l  drwahhab.com

Dr. Samina Wahhab is the only board-certified female plastic surgeon practicing in the Lehigh Valley. She opened her practice in 2001 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is also a member of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Wahhab performs many types of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, including tummy tucks, breast augmentation and liposuction as well as breast reconstruction after mastectomy.  Other procedures include eyelid surgery, nose and ear surgery and face and forehead lifts. She also treats traumatic injuries such as facial fractures and complex lacerations. In the aesthetic area, she uses treatments such as Botox®, Juvederm® and lip augmentation. The practice also incorporates facials, waxing and other skin treatments.

Shane Deppen, certified laser specialist, says Wahhab’s practice is the only one in the area using a new ultrasound treatment (Ultherapy) that tightens and tones skin on the face and neck without surgery. Treatments take 30 to 80 minutes and help restore memory to underlying tissue to tighten and lift the skin.

Deppen also notes that Wahhab emphasizes a personal, caring touch in her practice. Staff, including Wahhab, greet patients in the waiting room and remain with them from start to finish. “Here, you’re a person, not a number,” he explains.
